WinMerge is a visual text file differencing and merging tool available as an open source solution for Win32 platforms. Its main use is to identify changes between project versions and merge them. The tool features visual differencing and merging of text files, a flexible editor with syntax highlighting, line numbers, and word-wrap, handling of DOS, UNIX, and MAC text file formats, Unicode support, and a difference pane that shows the current difference in two vertical panes. The tool also includes a location pane that displays a map of the files being compared, highlights differences inside lines in file compare, allows for regular expression based file filters in directory compare to exclude and include items, and includes moved lines detection in file compare.
