InControl is a tool that allows users to control Windows automatic updating system by specifying a specific major version and feature update release. By default, the current release is used and the system only installs monthly security updates. To move to a future release, users can release control, edit the version number, and take control again. The system will then be targeted at the new feature release and remain there until the user releases control again.
